Welcome to the Monkland Community Website

This website was started as a means of publishing information about our village/parish.

Monkland is located in the popular tourist area of North-West Herefordshire and is a
starting point for touring the local black and white trail.

Mentioned in the Domesday book from 1086, Monkland  was then known as Leine.

There are a number of listed buildings in the parish dating from as early as the 12th century - the churches of All Saints, and the church of Sts Cosmas and Damian in Stretford.
